The last of our photographic adventures from the old spot taken with beloved Pentax K1000.

This past week added another year to my age and in celebration Landon and I went out on a hunt for furniture to fill up our rather sparse apartment. The hunt started off fruitless and frustrating with a visit to JUNK (aptly named as the place literally is littered with filthy, plucked from your neighbors trash heap, junk - the junky items themselves I take no issue with having recently nabbed my own neighbors trashed kitchen hutch but rather the extraordinarily high prices! Poor new yorkers, the sacrifices made to live in such a terrific town) followed by a visit to the smaller and much sweeter Ugly Luggage (77 dollar taxidermy seems rather generous in this over-priced town) and popped in a visit at the flea market on north 6th before heading off to our final destination. I'm not certain of the name of the place but should any of my fellow brooklyn friends ever be in need of furniture this is the spot for you! Reasonably priced furniture pile high to the ceiling, toys litter the floor, crates overflow with clothing, paintings cover the walls and knick knacks are tucked away in every nook and cranny. We returned home victorious with a large dark dresser, a side table for the living-room and brown leather gloves for Landon.

  14. Do you happen to remember the cross st on north 6th of the flea market you went to? Theres artists and fleas between Bedford and Berry, and then theres Fresh Kills...I've had some great luck at the salvation army on 46th and 10th ave in the city, including a gorgeous 60's media buffet and a chippendale dresser, and a brand new couch, all for under $300 (total)!

  24. I love your photographs so much! What lens do you have for your Pentax?

I'm not sure about NYC but in Dallas, the best place to score cheap (and often free furniture) is right near college dorms at the end of a semester. It's amazing what people throw away!
