photos from our rollei 35 developing pictures from this camera is a treat because the colours are always a surprise (it may just be that we've yet to master using this model). it's nice and compact and relatively easy to use but not as easy as our new friend the yashica t4! i will post pictures from that camera another time but a quick browse through the flickr tags should convince you of it's goodness.
i've received a few emails and comments regarding my make-up application so i thought i would share with you two make-up looks and their steps! long ago in a life before i was a make-up artist and would occasionally instruct people (in the flesh and online) how to apply their own make-up. please feel free to ask any questions regarding your own beauty regime and i will do my best to scrape my memory for answers.
step 2. applied intense red lipstick by make up for ever and used an angle brush (from my paint set, hehe) to dust a light gold shadow at the lash line and beneath corners of my eyes.
step 3. all done!
look 2!
step 1. applying nars orgasm on the apples of my cheeks in little circular motions.
step 2. using my dodgy angle brush again to apply a dark brown shadow at my lash line and winging it out a bit so i know where to go with the liquid liner.
step 3. applied liquid liner starting at the center of my lash line and working out very lightly! i prefer to use a watercolour style liquid liner (where you add the water yourself and apply with a wee brush). next, curling lashes!
step 4. a sneaky trick to lip enhancement! highlight your pout with a white eyeliner. just a little though so as not to look like a milk advert.
step 5. another lip tip! shadow your cupids bow very lightly with a pale brown liner or eye shadow.
Flickr Commons is my presently my favourite hunting grounds for eye candy (searching "modern dance" has been especially fruitful). where do you find your photographic favourites? i'm discouraged by my computer's inability to take screenshots otherwise i would be filling this blog with precious moments of my favourite celluloid heroes. perhaps you have tricks to share?
i've added a FAQ to the sidebar and hope to update it regularly with more q&a. at the moment you can find out what camera we use, how we met and where i like to shop. rather broad and not entirely helpful but soon i will be answering all life's pressing questions with great detail and some philosophical musing (and links! links to everything!). in the meantime i hope you enjoy these pictures and fantasize yourself balancing on one leg, veiled and by a pond with lady friends as i have been doing these last few hours.
a kind being requested a day of documentation from us. unfortunately i picked a rather uneventful day to document, oops! here it is, how we spent 06/20/09. a rather leisurely wake-up. saturday mornings are the quietest times of the week around here. very sweet. rather self explanatory, you see how filthy we can be though! four people brushing their teeth can leave quite a mark on the mirror. landon washing. making the bed is a group effort but landon forbids me to post the picture of his bed making on the internet as he had curiously styled wet hair from the shower. i had put this dress on but quickly decided it was not the right dress for such a dreary day. landon makes us the most delicious smoothies! i will make a post shortly on his secret recipe (and other recipes as i was asked about my diet in the previous post). we drink our smoothies, watch lost and i hem a dress. outside our door from a rowdy party the night before. they look rather cute all lined up. we are going to visit our new home (unfortunately we are being made to leave this one as they are planning on gutting and turning it into luxury condos, very sad). first we need to grab a plant from our roof to take over. beautiful view! the view from our new roof. we come home and eat snacks with our roommates. i play word mole on landon's phone.
our roommate entertains us with his food. we retire to our room and get to work. i make this headpiece (you can see it in action here) not certain that it is done or how to finish it. any ideas are welcome! we fall asleep and wake up feeling quite anemic - must find meat. we find an old yearbook and bring it home. meat success! we go to peters. most delicious and decently priced food. we feel revived and head home.
we head out again to an art opening in the lower east side. landon inside a buddy booth at the show. show is ok but home is better. landon hunts for rats as we wait for the train. on the way home we stop to pick up cookies and milk. wild parties are happening all around, andrew puts on his party man outfit and we set upstairs to investigate. we find glowsticks, flamingos and tiny bottles of beer. landon makes off with an armful of mini beverages and after a few smooth moves on the dancefloor we come back downstairs. we gorge on cookies and milk and i rag my hair then i lay down and pretend to sleep for this picture but really stay awake for three hours more feasting on lost episodes and snuggling.
thank you for all your comments on my last post! i'm taking all your suggestions and putting them into action (including the bits of advice from wise guy landon - quite liked that one)!
oldies taken 04/05 (before i got my boobies - a joke, just so we're clear.)
OK friends, i need your help. what would you like to see in this blog? initially i had started it as a companion to hannahandlandon.com a glimpse into our lives when we are not rolling around our home in scandalous attire or stomping our through the outdoors. but i'm afraid i've not done a very good job of that and have really only re-posted pictures (or those of a similar nature) from the website onto here and left out all the filler stuff that happens in our life. so here is where you may direct me. ask me questions! i don't believe i've ever shared in too much detail what i do during the daytime hours (besides feeding myself copious amounts of string cheese and watching lost). I have tried to convince landon to write little things here and there but he, alas, is much more comfortable behind the camera and i imagine that will continue to be his contribution as the landon of hannahandlandon (though i am quite happy to tell you all about him should you like to know!) tell me what you'd like to see here and i will do my best to make it happen! more kitten movies? more pre-raphaelite paintings? more inspiring photos from yesteryear (i can toss in some newbies too though the rest of blogger seems to have taken care of that for me)! i will start by telling you that i grew up in ottawa (ontario) memorizing Shakespeare's famous female roles alone in my attic bedroom, swooning over the tumultuous lovelives of 19th century artists, ragging my hair and walking tip toe on my point shoes (a dancer of 12 years though i was never great except for on stage) and then going to all night dance parties, dying my bangs pink, wearing plastic jewelry up to my elbows, talking about jesus and then singing along to chris carrabba, wearing cat-eye glasses, joining makeoutclub and lipstickandcigarettes and dreaming of the west coast. moved to the westcoast, went to missionary school, was ushered out of Morocco by secret police, spent the remainder of missionary days happily beveraged on a beach in Spain, left missions, engaged in the jovial Vancouver nightlife, then met landon. lived in a happy house with best friend, brother and landon, got engaged, travelled abroad with brother, married landon of the USA on a beach named after a relative (unbeknownst to us at the time). returned to Canada to visit family, got stuck in Canada for seven months, was reunited with my new husband, lived happily ever after (and documented all of it online! hehe). i don't know what you can ask me now that i've shared allllll! sorry!
landon and i have locked ourselves in our room all day and are presently working our way through the third season of lost at rapid speed (i realize we are a good 5 years late on this phenomenon) how addictive it is! we've taken to eating all our meals in our bed basking in the glow of the lost laptop. a travesty considering all of brooklyn was basking in the warm june sunlight with hot dogs and cool beverages. we are not all horizontal though, we had an eventful weekend otherwise indulging in rockband, german beer, pancakes and excellent company.
