cult salad snacks
Dear friends, you were right. You told me to go with Etsy and now I come to you humbled in agreement - yes, Etsy seems the superior internet selling spot. I erroneously assumed that fees would be lower and that there was safety in numbers with Ebay but after reviewing my first week of sales Michael Bluth's voice echoed in my head confirming that I had indeed "made a huge mistake". Foolish me! And such an easy and avoidable mistake! Had I only taken the time to read on fees! Those darn fees! Anyways, enough of that business, I just wanted to share that bit of information with you should any of you be plotting their own online shop. I've put together a little collection of stripes (including those two stripey outfits above) that I plan to put in shop tomorrow (a new shop, called My Loved One as The Loved One is spoken for on etsy).
Tomorrow I have a little surprise for you, sweet readers!

Oh i totally agree, etsy is a much better marketplace for vintage and your gorgeous images will be more appreciated over there. Can't wait to see it!!
ReplyDeleteI hope that this little surprise is in the shape of a kitten!!
ReplyDeleteI'm selling some stuff on ebay just now and dreading the fees! Perhaps if I make it a regular event I should switch to etsy. Hoping you have a kitten shaped surprise! x
ReplyDeleteI had to learn the hard way too. You'll love Etsy so much more!
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet it's not easy to set up shop - Ebay or Etsy. Are you moving to Etsy now? Wishing you good luck with your shop!
ReplyDeletei just moved to etsy too! you look gorgeous and i LOVED the arrested development reference. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're joining the etsy crew! I adore it there.
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous! Absolutely adore photos of you and love the theme of your home(ehhe) xx
ReplyDeleteI agree Etsy is the best! I think Sally Jane (of Sally Jane vintage) summed it up perfectly earlier this week.....
ReplyDeleteI think Ebay is sort of like shopping at a big, messy mall where you are barraged with junk around every corner and it takes hours to find the good stuff while Etsy is more like shopping at a small flea market where the vendors are friendly and you find lots of handmade goods among the vintage treasures.
That outfit is just darling, you have such a cute body!
I cannot wait to see your little surprise! (is it the kittens?)
ReplyDeleteand look forward to visiting your etsy shop.
p.s. and you have the best bum in the world.

Great Pants. Nice Hiney!
ReplyDeleteyou are absolutely gorgeous! and as always, inspiring <3
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you're joining the etsy crew! Your shop was lovely on ebay; I am sure it will be even lovelier on etsy.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, you only made "a huge, tiny mistake" (a la Gob Bluth).
And really, it is always best to experiment, fall down, and get up, before you settle on something, so you can be extra-sure you've made the right decision.
I love the stripe collection, all the dolls sitting on that chair, and your bum! And hooray for etsy!
ReplyDeletei don't have experience on it, but i've heard a lot of etsy-ers switch to bigcartel.com which is has a monthly fee but doesn't take any commission off your sales
ReplyDeleteyay i'm just happy about the arrested development reference...and so is george michael(our kitten, but you would know this from my last comment I hope). love the stripes too... xoxo
