life in a suitcase
As you can see I got a little carried away photographing the above dresses (also carried away caressing hair/face) but can you blame me? Are they not most excellent? I've gathered up a few dresses that I've collected during my travels to put in the shop tomorrow as we're finally settled in one place for the next two weeks (three weeks until my own bed) allowing me a fair amount of time to get back to this part of business. I've got quite a collection for you! All sorts of handsome Cracks style attire, lacey numbers and pretty cotton patterned dresses.
My partner and I spent last week prepping garments and having patterns made for our first Loved One collection! Very excited to soon share it with you (am most excited about the lingerie portion of the collection).
I've noticed that there have been a few new eyeballs around here lately thanks to a very generous write-up earlier this week. Please feel free to introduce yourselves!

ReplyDeleteOOoohhh!@!!!!! Hannah, you make me kind of mad that you're selling these!!!! They look sooooo pretty on you! Also cannot wait for your lingerie collection. Sounds lovely. Your vaca seems awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Smog
Hey Hannah,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you about a dramatic art project I did a few weeks ago for school. Most of the background color was done with pastel, along with a light coating of watercolor. What does this have to do with you, you ask? Layered on top of the pastel was tracing paper with faces traced on them: Jimi Hendrix, Billie Holiday, Franz Ferdinand, Hannah Metz, all gathered into one. The tracing paper gave a ghostly effect to the faces and I was questioned several times by my peers about who you were in particular. Each time, i'd point them in the direction of your site, mentioning your wonderful photographs and illustrations.
Just thought you'd appreciate it.
Let me know if you'd like to see.
Keep up the good fun.
-Melissa
Miss Smog, it crushes me a bit to part with these but they are being sold to accomplish bigger dreams! One day I'll get to keep my treasures!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, sounds wonderful! I'm incredibly flattered that you included my visage in such an ambitious project, I would love to see the piece!

How do you find such marvelous dresses?! I especially love the ones in the last two pictures and it's completely acceptable to get carried away when you have lovely finds as such.
ReplyDeleteAlso I am not always impressed by black and white photographs but you have done them justice, very nice photographs :)
p.s. I have been a reader of yours since your lj days, you make photobooth pictures seem dreamy, I don't know how you do it and your photographs are always lovely.
hello :)
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely stunning! i adore your blog :)

Not only are you such a beautiful lady, you also seem absolutely nice!
ReplyDeleteI've been a creeper on here for a while, and could honestly have posted the following comments in every single one of your posts(but chose not to, because, ya know, it would be a little creepy and redundant):
"Oh my god, you're so pretty"
"Oh my god, you look so beautiful"
"Oh my god, you seem so nice"
"Oh my god, you're so inspiring"
So there you go, a creeper all at once.
Looking lovely! Your dresses are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pics! Love that lace top dress and your hair is fab.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, these photos are beautiful and your hair is big and beautiful (shouldn't those two words always go together? I think they should.) Where are you now and where are you going next, and I can't wait to see these pieces go up in your store.
ReplyDeletexo Jenny

ReplyDeleteHannah the picture of you in Hawaii is so lovely! You look like a raphaelite paleontologist!!! Your hair looks different? Straighter perhaps and completly lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi there, I've been following your blog for some time. I love your fashion and writing styles.
ReplyDeleteThese dresses are great but so is the setting! I have to admit that the trees and grass are a nice change from the usual indoor bricks and windows :)
omg you're so gorgeous ! i love your style <3
ReplyDeleteHi everybody! Thanks for introducing yourselves :) I'm making my way through all of your lovely blogs and have been adding loads to my reader!
ReplyDeleteHiroko: I hunt for dresses all over! Mostly I find them at wholesale second-hand clothing distributors. :)
Ana Karen: I enjoyed your creeping very much.
Petra: I know exactly what's hiding behind those bushes! Dog poop and some sort of fast food remains dragged there by poopers!
Gabriela: Yep! Switch has been made :) you can now find me on etsy as "mylovedone".
HOWL: Thank you! I wasn't ragging my hair while we were in Hawaii so it's in it's natural bone straight way!
Sury: I wholeheartedly concur, outdoors is much more exciting for photographic adventures! Unfortunately our spot back home in brooklyn has no bit of grass or leaf to offer us :(.
Adorable photos, that has something extra special rather than "just" being a picture of an outfit, they are truly artistic. Well done! I love the blog, especially as we seem to have similar tastes in art, and I really enjoyed looking through your tumblr as well. XXX
