At Home With: Hannah and Landon MetzI always enjoy seeing our home through the eyes of other people, especially when those other people are as skilled with a camera as my friend, Agnes Thor. This Tuesday Agnes and Katarina stopped by early morning and sat down with us to talk about our home and all the eyeballed objects within it. You can read the interview and see a bit more on the Elle Interior site here!

All photos by Agnes Thor.

This Is Our Youth

A few shots from last Friday when I met up with photographer, Kimi Selfridge. I very much recommend taking a peek at her ongoing project "This Is Our Youth" here!

This is going to be one of my less rambling on like a grandpa posts. Quickly, before I run out of the house to meet up with friends for a chilly night's stew,  I wanted to mention the top in the second photo here. That magnificent lilac hued, bound and be-tasseled thing is now over one hundred years old and I know it is a shame to some people to wear such antiquities but I am not of that party (having taken part in the destruction of many an Edwardian blouse and bedclothes). My gracious Aunt Dot, who boasts a collection so breathtaking it is all on display as though she lives in a (rather condensed) museum, gave me the blouse last Christmas. If you are cringing at my wearing it I will say now that it has not made it out of the house and is kept safe and worn with great care. I realize this is something a mite more special then 100 year old underpants and oh my gosh look at this, a ramble.

Gold Bug

bobo

Here I am dressing like my favourite tumblr tag (shiny), heh. The catsuit and the second gold number are two pieces I picked up from The Loved One last time I was in Los Angeles. I've since been excitedly waiting for cooler temperatures to don the new duds daily. The blouse in the photo of me, Bobo and my escape artist tooth was a birthday present from my loving little brother, Liam and the gold mini dress which fit me like a glove up until my adult hips came blasting through was found in a dirty clothing pile in Arizona.

This past month Landon and I celebrated our sixth year of marriage, yes, six years! Getting married at sixteen was just great. (kidding! I'm old.) Landon's gift to me, or us really, was the long coveted Contax g2, the camera with which the above photos were taken (as you can see I'm still learning to adjust my bat eyes to the bright bright contax flash). I'm eager to get out and snap some photos of not myself!

I've been making an effort between hunting for freelance jobs, indulging in a strict diet of avocados on everything and keeping an eye on the west coast happenings of TLO to read more. Yesterday I picked up Far From The Madding Crowd, Shirley and Portrait of a Lady and am presently reading Wolf Hall. What are your summer reads? Have any of you read Wolf Hall? Did you picture James Frain (mm) throughout? Were you as confused as I am at times during conversations when the author doesn't distinguish the speaker and simply refers to them as "he"? Otherwise, I'm really enjoying the book and would be actually really excited should one of you like to nerd out about it with me in the comments! Ya!

around brooklyn with a disposable camera

A (almost, not quite) month of running errands in our neighbourhood. My favourite is the freak snow shot from October!

All clothing pictured is vintage from the shop with the exception of the green skirt in front of Gigilo Boys which came from my pal Holly at d.RA. The red and brown wedges are both from one of my favourite shoe shops, Remix. (Their website is a bit of a disaster but man alive, their shoes cannot be beat. SO COMFORTABLE.)

Happy Weekending! I'm snuggled in drawing up flyers for some exciting shop events taking place next week (real snow, in Pasadena! Falling in front of our shop!) and listening to my favourite christmas jams. Mmmm :)

A small preview of scarves that are coming soon to the much neglected online shop.

Blouse from Fluke Vintage in Brooklyn (a truly amazing shop that is sadly relocating to Los Angeles. Get in there before it closes up mid december! I'll be by the sale rack hanging out with Vicotrian bolleros for under 30 dollars. Mind blowing.)
Bralette from The Loved One
Skirt from Beacon's Closet in Brooklyn
Kitten from a land of a million rainbows, cotton candy clouds and chocolate covered mountains.
Painting by Landon (and I helped!)
Hair by pillow.
