most of these chill-inducing pictures courtesy of Vintage Photo. i have found myself once again in a horizontal state, i blame germy transit system and touching my face all the time. i need one of those cone collars so i can't reach my face while in public. i'm determined to make this a productive sickness and will be attempting my first knit hat (to disastrous results no doubt. one time i made my brother a scarf for christmas which he promptly misplaced and knit himself a new one with two stripes more than the first and in much better condition. out-knitted by my own brother and on something as simple as a scarf. hm.) i hope you are all in better health and are enjoying all fall's glories! pumpkin spiced coffee, wooly coats, leather gloves, stockings, and smokey air. mmm. what are your halloween costume plans? my costumes are never very inspired having gone in the past as a "deer cat", cardboard box with metallica written on it (was beavis and butthead but ended up just being the metallica box set by the end of the night), a pippi longstocking pickle and a nothing - you can see halloween dress-up is not a strong point for me, but this year i'm determined! inspire me with your brilliant costumes!

  4. Hannah this post is really cute, so you, I laughed out loud. When I was living in New York, I would see some of the most vile germy people touch the bus poles, and I swore to myself that if I ever touched them ( which upon occasion I really had to) I would never touch my face. This idea of what I would take on if I did. To say the least because of this fear, I had the best skin ever. But the collar idea, you are so funny I love that.

  5. Beautiful pictures! I like haunted photography, it's the best to look at on autumnal evenings and with a cup of tea to hold you company.

  6. I really can't decide what I want to be for halloween. I've got a bee costume, which I wore to carnival this year, but I'd also like to go as a girl from star trek, because I've got a great sixties dress and my boy always tells me that I look like someone from a scifiprogramm. my mom made me a superdupercool strawberry pullover and I'd like to dress up as the queen of hearts, because I own a shirt with a heart-shaped hole. but probably I'll go as heidi von der alm, because a friend from the youth centre wants to be klara, because she's sitting in a wheel chair, too. I love dressing up so much and I especially love the parties in the youth centre, where I work, for halloween and carnival. I'm pro-dress-up. yay! hope I could inspire you a bit.

  7. Now that I sort of know what you look like nakey, I can say that the first picture, girl on the right looks a lot like you!

I have many costumes to wear this year. For my mom's Halloween hayride/party, I'm going as neck-sliced Marie Antoinette; for John's sister's party, I may go as Coraline? I'm not sure; and for Halloween, my makeshift band is playing as No Doubt, so I get to be Gwen Stefani! Trying to decide if I want to be ska-blonde Gwen, or funky-pink haired Gwen. Hrm.

  8. Knitting isn't my strongest neither. Knitted a scarf in school one time, it became wrinkled and assymmetric and like the worst piece ever.
Haven't tasted pumpkin coffee, sounds a bit scary.
    Gett well soon.

  9. Haha, I love that collection of pictures! So creepy and lovely. That's a really strange combination.

I don't think I'll be dressing up for Halloween; I don't think I'll be out in public really. My friend wants me to dress up as a lumberjack and I have to admit, I am tempted to wear a felt beard.

  15. I've just finished knitting a hat! Make sure you cast on the right amount, maybe about 40-50. I cast on 60 and it's a bit too big. Sick days are best for knitting with cups of tea and movies, yumyum. Good luck!

  16. those pictures are so lovely!

i'm usually pretty creative for halloween, but this year i am feeling really stumped. i think it's because finally my hair is long and i want to do something with it... like have an excuse to cut my hair, or use it in my costume.

i'm going to post my halloween how-tos in my blog soon, but i think you already saw that when i posted it in newestwrinkle last year....

  17. I'm not in the least bit crafty so my halloween costumes usually aren't too creative. This year I'm going to be Rachel Zoe... I have plenty of of long vintage dresses, oversized shades and jewelry, I just need a long wig and some jowls and I'm set!!!
