Summer hairstyle inspirations! Click the photos for their original sources - thank you kind people of flickr for the endless amounts of inspiration you've shared. I made a little gallery featuring more summer hair-dos to inspire. I've also been keeping a tumblr (late on this bandwagon) account to fill with various photographic inspirations here.

I answered a few questions that were asked in my last post here. Thank you for all your kind comments! Also like to thank the lovely ladies over at BALLAD OF for their kind comments and featuring this blog amongst such a great lot of inspiration. Check out their magazine and contribute to their next issue!

One last thing before I get back to working on getting future Ebay store sorted (will keep you abreast of any news regarding the shop). A few months ago (thanksgiving day to be exact) Landon, Rebecca and I were at Whole Foods in Union Square and a beautiful girl in a brown dress approached us and confessed to reading this blog. Are you still reading this blog beautiful brown dress girl? Cos if you are I'd like to be your friend. Landon was harassing me to approach you for a number (I feel like such a creep as lately Landon has been trying to set me up on dates and nudging me towards young ladies at our local watering hole) but I was too shy. So, if you happen to read this rather belated missed connection leave me a comment and let's have a date!

Awwh Hannah you're so cute, I wish that I was the beautiful brown dress girl!
These photos are beautiful, and make me wish that my hair was long and wavy and unruly

Can't wait til my hair is long enough to try that bottom right updo!
I can completely relate to the intimidation/creepy factor associated with approaching a lovely lady... I see people all the time who look like future friends but what on earth do you say to a complete stranger? "You look like someone I'd like to make dinner for and confide childhood memories with"? ... yep, weirdo.

What beautiful photos those are. I really like that you can't really see any sort of makeup, they are all naturally stunning with pretty hair adornments. Being a hair designer myself I am all about big hair and the frizzy wavy look. Thanks for sharing these lovely shots. Good luck finding the mystery gal. It's hard to met new friends. I am shy when It comes to meeting gals too. I think mostly I am just bad at calling people to hang out, I need to change that. It's taken me a while to make new friends since moving here.

Celine- I would love for somebody to come up to me and say that! It would be too charming to turn down. Do it!

this is such an adorable post! you are too cute. i hope the brown dress girl reads this and you two become besties and it's all magical. i had a girl that i adored from afar who worked in my favourite gallery/shop and then one day we finally arranged to hang out and now i count her as one of the most wonderful friends i have. so it is do-able. big love xx

Your post made me think of Jeffrey Lewis singing about a brief encounter with a charming stranger and how he wishes they would meet again, in "Chelsea Hotel Oral Sex Song". It's a nice thought to think someone you barely know is thinking they'd like to be your friend!

It's lovely that you actually reached out to the girl in the brown dress!

i love how soft and voluminous these hairdos are.

i had a missed connection once with a man who came into the shoe store i was working at. he left me feeling all warm and gushy inside so i tried to track him down via craigslist. did not have much of a success though. ):

hope you find your girl in the brown dress and take her on a lady date!

aw... how cute that landon is trying to make dates for ya. wish i lived near you! these photos are beautiful inspiration, now we just need the summer temps. the first girl reminds me a bit of James' daughter Milla from Bleubird vintage. i think it's the eyes or the smile... real pretty though!

wow the girl in the first photo is so striking. i'm working on getting some volume and curl action in the hair department.

i do hope the brown dress girl reads this post, and is as charmed as i would be, if i were her.

do you know what? i've always thought (unlike with guys) that if a woman approached me, that is a thing to be cherished and feel humbled about. sadly, never happened. maybe i should wear brown dresses more often :)

This story is so sweet!

I'm searching for new friend (or a few) at the moment too, but I am usually too shy to take the first step too.

I wish I would meet someone who had the same interests as me (reading, blogging, magazines, photography and decoration) but right now all my friends are into partying, careers, talking about people behind their back etc. No inspiration or intellect there..

I would love to be your friend though! :)

Oh that's so amazingly sweet. I see girls sometimes and I feel like we would be friends but I never say anything.

I'm not the brown girl dress but I'd be your friend. I'm in NYC.

When I looked at the photos, I never thought they are there for their hairstyles! You are brilliant!

i love missed connections. where is the brown dress girl??

on a side note, i love that bottom right photo, the sort of loose, droopy up-do- i can manage that. in fact, i'm going to try it right now :)
