Feeling much better now that I'm actually out and on my travels! Thank you for all your kind and thoughtful words of encouragement. I confess I was being a bit melodramatic about the whole thing but I couldn't help but feel weepy when there were two (err three) adorable furballs curled up nearby that I was about to leave!

I'm leaving the chilly mid-west today and am onto Los Angeles to start prepping and sending off lingerie and goodies for our upcoming pop-up shop. We've found some truly exciting pieces while buying here that I cannot wait to see all gussied up and hanging in the shop (our very first almost sort of shop!). The next two weeks are going to be a whirlwind of activity and I'm pretty excited about all of our current endeavors! Hopefully will remember to properly document this time both in pictures and words O_O.

I'm leaving again today, this time without my beloved little family of kittens and Landon. My partner and I are off on a buying trip in preparation for next months pop-up shop then it's onto to Los Angeles to set everything up. I wont be home until February something and it saddens me greatly. I think, after this, I will try not to travel again this year (hah! fat chance). It's turning me into a full on hermit when I am at home because I long for it so when I'm away (which, by my calculations, was more often than not last year). So, new year's resolution number 1, no more traveling. Will conduct all travel business with webcam or weird robot that goes to work for you and stay at home in bed with streaming internet television, chips and purring kittens on my head. I apologize for this downer of a post, just, I'm feeling rather rotten right now about leaving and writing about it is sort of curing that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. /livejournal entry.

red, green and white scrunch socks

The winner of the Bohemian Bisoux giveaway is Katy of Dirty Hems, congratulations Katy! Try not to pee on this one O_o! Honorable mention to caitthegreat for actually recording her storytelling, Sage for "glittery poos", Emily_RubySlippers for her partying grandpop and Natasha Opfell for her heartwarming christmas tree tale! You all made it incredibly hard for me to pick and I appreciate so much your indulging me and playing along! I wish you all the merriest of holidays free from (too much) embarrassment and full of warm hearts.

Now onto kitten business. What can I say? They are the greatest! It's now been a week and I cannot imagine a life without them. Bobo (the top picture) is my little cuddly curious (computer loving) girl and Pippin is the most darling, purring, snuggling boy. On friday we had a little holiday party and were planning on keeping the kittens in the bedroom away from the shenanigans but they ended up hanging out on the bed greeting (and entertaining) guests like total pros almost the entire night! Spoiled little kittens received an abundance of toys (Pippin's favourite came from Emily, he carries it around the house growling) and cuddles throughout the event. Introducing Pippin and Bobo!

We've spent the whole day in our living room bonding with our newly named new babies Pippin and Bobo! Pippin and Bobo came to us through the wonderful ladies of Bobbi and the Strays, a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue located in Queens. At the moment Landon is sprawled out across the sofa with one kitten snuggled up between his legs, the other in his armpit and all three of them sleeping (I can hear purring! BAHHHH YOU GUYS! DYING)!

Loads more pictures to come!

Hello friends, just a quick update of one of many posts I imagine I'll be making on our trip west to a most beautiful part of the world! I don't have much time as bed is beckoning but tomorrow I hope to make a second post of water related pictures with tales of our travels.

Before I off, however, I must tell you that I am presently in KITTEN HEAVEN! Yes, friends, I have two eight week old brother kitties sleeping on my lap as I type this. My mum adopted these two boys to comfort the household as we grieve the loss of a most beloved member (my grandparents, mum, brother and sister all live together in a home built by my great-grandpa here in beautiful West Vancouver). I'm not sure how I'll be able to part with these two when it comes time to travel south again (as if I am not already pining for the company of my west-coast family enough!). This blog will no doubt be swimming in kitten pictures by the end of our stay here (one of them keeps popping up for kisses on the nose)!

Only two more days to bid on this lot! I'm excited to get the next round going and have settled on this Wednesday (har har har) to put up the collection of wedding/white dresses and hats! (I've snuck a few preview shots of the collection on tumblr including a video that will likely make your eyes ache, for which I apologize, I did not mean for it to be so glitchy!)

In more important news, we dropped off our kitty adoption forms! Now we wait for our perfect kitten brothers to come to us. It's happening friends, it's finally happening! Those kitty toys that my mum and dad gave to us this christmas with the same "to my first grandchild" joke will no longer be sitting neglected next to scrabble and cards. No longer will we take longing strolls through the pet aisle, no more pretending that loud street cat outside our window is invisible home kitty, no more writing about kitten desire on blog! (what now to write of?)

achieving spontaneous expression

tights_1

tights_3

thank you for all your responses regarding my hair dilemma! it seems you were all overwhelmingly in favour of going back to natural ginger locks (though perhaps risky business at this time)! i thank you for picking the cheapest and (eventually) easiest hair-do for me!

those of you who have been reading this blog for awhile are probably familiar with landon's work with american apparel. a few months ago he collaborated with them on this pair of tights featuring his watercolour painting. keep your eyes peeled as they're set to release more of this style in the near future.

pardon my gloomy disposition in above photo, it was part blinding light on pale eyes and part meditating on moving and thanksgiving preparations (and perhaps a pinch of "model face"?). we've set our moving date for this tuesday! i'm eager to settle into our new abode and to welcome a new and furry friend into our family. yes, friends, the time has come - we are having a kitten. he will not be the one-eyed black persian that i had so pined for but he will be perfect nonetheless. he will sleep in our bed and jump on our feet and purr on our faces and at three in the morning when we are fed up with his shenanigans we will put him outside our door but then he will cry and we will admit defeat and let him back in where he will then continue to play with our feet and purr on our faces but we will be happy and fall asleep smiling. yes, these are the scenarios that i've been dreaming for months, no, years (it's been exactly five years since i've last had the pleasure of living with a furry (small, that is, i have landon after all) companion. i have serious kitten fever.

this blog is presently undergoing much needed err "renovations", after seeing landon's beautifully crafted new blog i've convinced him to work some magic on this old thing, exciting for me!
